==Programming==

The KBOI morning show, "Idaho's First Morning News/Idaho Talks Live" is anchored by Paul J. Schneider and Chris Walton. Schneider, an Illinois native who moved to Idaho as a teen with his parents and brother, has been a KBOI morning host since 1976. Walton, a native of Twin Falls, Idaho, joined the program in 2001, moving from the morning show at Citadel-owned classic rock station KKGL. The KBOI morning newscaster is station news director Ken Weaver, who relocated to Boise after working in radio news for several years in Oklahoma and Arkansas. The radio program was simulcast on then-local Fox television station KTRV-TV from 8am to 10am Monday through Friday from 2003 through 2010. KTRV dropped the program after Boise CBS affiliate television station KBCI-TV changed its call letters to KBOI-TV to reflect a renewed partnership with KBOI radio.
KBOI was a CBS Radio affiliate until 2005 when Citadel assigned it the ABC affiliation, preluding to Citadel's 2007 acquisition of ABC Radio. Citadel merged with Cumulus Media on September 16, 2011.
KBOI was the contracted radio station for Boise State University football and basketball from 1973 through early 2008. Schneider served as play-by-play announcer during that entire period with a variety of color commentators. The Broncos returned to KBOI during the 2010 season with Bob Behler serving as the Voice of the Broncos.
KBOI's afternoon drive slot is held by Boise talk show host Nate Shelman.
The station also features syndicated shows hosted by Rush Limbaugh, Sean Hannity, John Batchelor and Mark Levin. KBOI was programmed by Andrew Paul from December 2002 to May 2011. 670 KBOI is now under the programming direction of David Allen who relocated from sister station WBAP in Dallas Texas.
KBOI was the number-one-rated radio station in the Boise market for the spring 2009 ratings period with a 6.9 Arbitron share among persons age 12+.
